100 Years at the Movies

Answers

Why is "Citizen Kane" considered the greatest movie on AFI's 100 movies... 100 years, and should I watch it?

That is one incredible film!
I hadn't known it was #1, though! Maybe 8, or 7, haha.
On the Waterfront should be #1.

Anywho, Orson Welles gives another awesome performance... I think you have to be somewhat "in the know" with the time period in the film to get the movie, but yes! See it!!!

Where can I watch AFI's 100 Years 100 Movies, 10th Anniversary Edition online?

This is for a film class, I would like to watch it online so I do not have to go to the library in our school to watch it. I would rather get ahead and do it at home. I know there are a bunch of places online to watch online videos, but does anyone know where I cant watch AFI's 100 Years 100 Movies, 10th Anniversary Edition.

Thanks in advance!!
Well, thanks I already looked at youtube.

I need the actual video, not the list. I already wrote down the list on my worksheet.

Try http://mooviecenter.blogspot.com its a great site.

How reliable is the AFI's 100 Years, 100 Movies list?

Is there a better list?

Just someones opinion. An educated opinion, but still an opinion. And no, if I wanted to know who the best athlete is, I wouldn't ask other athletes. It's still going to come down to who "I" like, not what some panel of "experts" tells me what to like.

So I was watching AFI's 100 years of movies....?

They had 100 years and 100 best movies. They deffinatly had some great movies, but their top ten was

1)Citizen Kane
2)The God Father
3)Casablanca
4)Raging Bull
5)Sing'n In The Rain
6)Gone With The Wind
7)Laurence Of Arabia
8)Schindlers List
9)Vertigo
10)Wizard Of Oz

I wanted to know if you agreed with them or what your top ten would be. Let me know what you think thanx ;)

I thought it was stupid for even doing a list again. They did this 10 years ago and they said they did it again because so many good movies have come out in the past 10 years. Yet when I watched it the only movies I noticed in the past 10 years was Lord of the Rings and Saving Private Ryan! Two freckin movies! Why even do the list again? Also, it seemed a great majority of the movies on there were from pre 1975. What there were no great movies made in the 80's or 90's or 2000's? I like a lot of movies from different era's but this seemed like just a bunch of old fogies putting a list together.

Who else has a problem with AFI's 100 years 100 movies list?

First of all, I think Rosemary's Baby should have been somewhere on the list because most people consider it one of the best horror classics of all time. Secondly, you're meaning to tell me that SINGING IN THE RAIN is better than GONE WITH THE WIND?

I think you missed the point of the A.F.I.s list. Because one film is higher on the list than another does NOT mean its a better film - its name came up more often.
