We all know Earth is oval/round shaped.Forget about, the law of Simple Harmonic Motion, forget about the Hot environment inside the Earth. What would happen in case of a man starts digging Earth from one end and reaches on other end anyway? Will his legs be upwards on the other end, after completing digging?
Well, I appreciate the fact that you include a waiver for many of the things that would make this task impossible, that helps a lot ;)
If some explorer were able to dig a hole straight through the center of the earth, the digger would slowly find the apparent effects of gravity decreasing as he or she approaches the center. On the surface of the earth we feel a good, solid 1G because we have this huge mass effectively "underneath" us but our explorer would slowly be working his way down until only a portion of said mass is "underneath" them... the rest is above them and around them. By the time they reach the center, they would essentially have a nearly equal amount of mass in all directions, all pulling with pretty much the same amount of force. Yup, they'd feel like they were floating and would have trouble discerning any "up" or "down" by then. When they start digging the rest of the way through, they are no longer digging "down", and the further from the center of the earth it will feel more like digging up. By the time they break through to the other side, they're back to a nice steady 1G.
I hope this helps you, and I hope you don't need the equasions. We're talking about some serious calculus here and I'm not sure I'm up to that right now ;)

"The Man from Earth" trailer
No one so far has been able to find the missing link between man and the apes, The book "Chariot of the Gods" goes at great length to indicate that man came from space, Hindu mythology talks of Fire balls and chakras and the lure of stargazing persists across all the walls man has built across all borders. Seti continues, Jesus ascended to the heavens, bacterial remains seem to have been found on meteorite fragments on Earth, Nano techology is opening new vistas at the micro level, black holes are observed and white holes spewing out matter are suspected. The universe may be open or conversely may be a closed universe. Time may warp and space may interact with it. Many mysteries - yet speculative imagination seems to be the only road left. So a basic question has been asked - whether man originatied as a unicellular organisation or emerged from the region of unknown space as a fully developed being - so let us see what people across nations think
Even if man did come as a fully developed being from space, where did the fully developed being come from in that particular region of space?? Afterall, he would have had to develop some place or the other. In all probability, man did originate as a unicellular organism (there is much evidence supporting this). But even if he did come from space, he must have been a uni-cellular organism on some other planet one time of the other. The vast horizon of time disappears from view as quickly as it came. Mysteries are lost in time. All that remains is speculation. If we find answers to all the mysteries and riddles occupying our mind, we will undoubtedly find more to contemplate over. Our humble beginnings are only open to discussion. It is doubtful that we will ever find a concrete answer.
Just like the human body that has organisms within to fight germs. Our earth is a living ,breathing, entity.Which has been plosh and green for billions of years before the arrivial of man.We have polluted and contaminated this world beyond our capacity to irreverse its damaging effects. So many believe that the earth itself is starting to fight back, just like organisms fighting virses in the body. But the earth attacks with earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, and floods! In an attempt to remove a hostile species from its body...Man!!!
Following up on your analogy, the human body contains inside and on its surface both good and bad bacteria. Good bacteria on the skin prevent the invasion of bad bacteria. Good bacteria in the gut helps produce Vitamin D, etc. but we get sick if bad bacteria infects us.
In a way men can behave as good or bad bacteria in relation to our earth. We used to have a camping motto that ran something like, "Leave a campsite cleaner than you found it."
13 billion lightyears.
Telescopes on Earth can see that far.
what are man-years ?
