What is a good audition song for Singin' in the Rain?
Singin' In The Rain

I'm auditioning for Singin' in the Rain in a couple weeks and I'm looking for a good audition song. I can sing comfortably anywhere between the E below middle C and a high A. I'm looking for something preferably from classic Broadway pre-1960s era, though I'm open to other suggestions. Does anyone have any ideas?

Heather as the Lady in Green in Singin' In The Rain

I am auditioning for the part of Cosmo in the upcoming production of Singin' in the Rain and I'm not sure what song I should choose to audition with. The song must be from another musical outside of Singin' in the Rain. Any suggestions that would help me land the part?

Any song that shows off your vocal range!

Where can I get the posters from the diction coach scene in Singin' in the Rain?
Heather as the Lady in Green in Singin' In The Rain

They are posters of mouths pronouncing the vowel sounds in the scene with the diction coach where they sing moses supposes. I need them to live.

If you can't find the actual poster, - find a picture of the scene and go to a site like truprint.co.uk or zazzle.com - upload the picture, customise it if you want (colour, monotone, add other images etc..) and they print it into a poster (of your size choice) and send it to your door. Quite cheap too.

Why is Singin' in the rain considered a historical dance work?
Singin' In The Rain

Watch it if you ever have a chance; the choreography was done primarily by Gene Kelly, one of Hollywood's great dancers/choreographers. The movie has some very fine vocal numbers in it, but they are always accompanied by dance. The film was released in 1952, and was set in the early 1930's when "talkies" (talking films) were taking off after 2 decades of silent movies. So the film is historical because of when it was filmed and the era about which it was filmed.
