I want to get "la bella vita" tattooed but i keep coming across "la vita e bella" so i want to know what the difference is.
"La bella vita" - Beautiful life
"La vita è bella" - Life is beautiful
Edit: Don't forget the accent on the "è". "E" without an accent in Italian means 'and' while "È" with an accent means 'is'.

I'm just trying to gather ideas to support my theme for a class project. The theme is la bella vita and were taking a whole like beautiful italian countryside approach.
In Italian "La bella vita" (lit. "The beautiful life") actually means "living without working", and often spending a lot in luxury items. Of course few people have the fortune needed to afford not to work.
In general life in Italy is not much different from the life of other Western countries.
Perhaps some differences are the following:
- In Italy there are few big enterprises. Instead of a big enterprise, in Italy there is a tightly knitted network of small independent enterprises, each managed by its founder and owner, or by his sons and daughters. So in Italy there are many entrepreneurs but few managers.
- In Italy many workers like to have lunch with their families or anyway to have a good lunch, so it's very rare that an office or factory is open between 12:30 and 13:30, and many workers take a longer break to get home for lunch.
- In Italy, mainly southern Italy, there are many housewives, because it is difficult for a married woman to find and keep a job, and because there are not good public services to support working mothers.
- In the last thirty years, natality has dramatically dropped and marriage age has increased. Now it's not uncommon for an Italian woman to have her first (and only) child at 35 or later.
- Italians do not love computers (I am an exception), but do love cell phones, both for talking and texting.
- Italian cars are small, compared to American cars.
Hope that helps.
Pay attention...In italy we say "the life is beautiful".."la vita è bella "..speaking about life...But "la bella vita"..oppure "fare la bella vita" change the meaning...To do or to spend a good life..meas :
The person (the boy) lives like a parasite ..spending money of his parents..no working..sleeping all the day..thinking only amusements..changing girls every week..Living withaut tinking to the future..! It is no very good picture...
