My friend claims that the mouse in the movie Green Mile either lived forever or lived for one hundred years. I need to know whether or not she was right.
We don't find out because he is still alive at the end of the film, but it is implied by Paul that he does not live forever just way longer than he should, he says it when he is trying to determine how long he will live and if a mouse can live as long as that mouse has Paul may live hundreds of years longer than he should.
So the answer is she isn't right because they never confirmed any age at which that mouse would die.
Trailer for The Green Mile. Surprised I couldn't find it here, so I just thought I'd upload it. In my opinion one of the best movies ever ...
I just read the green mile and I think I understood it, but I want to know what other people think about it.
Personally, I think he was trying to show that evil comes in different forms, and the biggest, maybe, not to judge a book by it's cover. You had this huge, scary, black guy, found with two dead girls, people assumed the worst, and it turned out he was kind, gentle, and trying to help them.
In other words, the "Christ" figure in the Green Mile was John Coffee and it was Jim Casey in The Grapes of Wrath. Both characters have the initials JC (for Jesus Christ) What is that type of writing called when there is a "Christ" figure?
I'm not sure but I would consider it a fable.
Fable - is a story that teaches a moral or a lesson.
I just finished watching The Green Mile starring Tom Hanks, and let me say, I think they did a superb job on the movie despite the fact I never read the book. But this much I do know, that Stephen King did base some of his characters, most notably John, on the character in Of Mice and Men.
John=Lenny
Percy=Curly
Tom Hank's character= George
So i gotta wonder, what's the mouse, Mr Jingles, representing? Maybe an alliteration to Candy and his dog?
of mice and men, I would say mice.
So, I'm doing an Advanced Placement class and I'm supposed to find 10 examples of ambiguity in any novel of my choice. I've chosen the book The Green Mile by Stephen King. I KNOW there is plenty of ambiguity in this book, I'm just having trouble finding it and putting it into words. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could help me.
Thanks
Can you also describe the ambiguity of the events you have said?
Morality versus duty
Life versus death
Sin and redemption
Purity versus corruption
