What is a new born star is call in space?
GENERAL PYPE AND JOASSY-CAN OF WHURNMYND

Hey, I've been researching because I want to be independent in my life and I'm just at the beginning. Anyways, what is a born star call in space?

a. The question should be "What is a new born star in space called?"

b. It would either be called just a star or a protostar. However I think protostar is what the star would be called before it is actually born. I guess it would depend on your definition of "born" but I think the general definition is when the protostar gains enough mass so that it can fuse hydrogen.

Good idea with the independent research. I am the same.

Is it probable for me to see a star die or be born in my lifetime?
WM URBAN VIBES POSTER

I know that the Milky Way produces about one death to a star a year and three births to stars a year, but the Milky Way is HUGE! What are the odds a star will be born or die somewhere visable from earth?

To be born? No, that's not likely - they're pretty dim when they're born and we don't see them in that stage very often. When they die? Sure, we see that every day - in gamma ray bursts that last a few days to supernovae that can last years. But those stars are in distant galaxies, not our own (they don't happen in our own more than every 50 years or so and can only be seen in certain orientations) so you'll need at least a small telescope to see these.

Here's a site keeping track of recent supernovae; you're more likely to be able to see one of those than a GRB.

A star which is born with 35 solar masses lose 45% of the mass through?
CLINT THE DRUNK WITH JOASSY-CAN OF WHURNMYND

A star which is born with 35 solar masses lose 45% of the mass through
solar wind. During the supernova explosion it loses 7 solar masses more. Will it
become a neutron star or a black hole?

Can someone explained it very briefly?

Thanks!

It should become a black hole.

after your star loses its 45% it is then 19.25 solar masses.

losing 7 more puts it at 12.25 well over the limit or 3 solar masses for a neutron star. Beyond 3, you will have a black hole.

Even CNN said a new star was born tonight after Palin speech? Very impressive, what do u think?

Even Obama cheerleaders in the media were impressed. She made her case and she became the star of the Republican party. I think we should give Mccain the credit for this awesome choice. I used to support Hillary, but now i'm definitely voting for Mccain. What do u think?

I'm with you. I supported Hillary, but Obama is too left for me.

I'm voting for McCain/Palin.
