Audition for possibly 42nd Street what should I sing at my audition?
City Sunset

Okay I go to a performing arts school and its the second year of it being open and we have this thing were other people from other schools can audition for musicals. Rumor has it that this years show is 42nd Street. Let me remind you 42nd Street is my all time favorite show. So I will be auditioning for dancer/singer since I mainly dance. I cant sing very well so I am looking for a song that is slightly easy to sing. I am a mezzo soprano. So if you could recommend me a song to sing I'd really appreciate it! Also its my senior year so I really would like to get in.

How to transfer from A to N trains at 42nd street?
Killer Elite Movie Standee Poster 5050

To get to my destination, the N or Q trains are the closest, but I'm coming from JFK so I'll be on the A train. Only place to transfer is at 42nd street but it looks like the tracks are far apart. Is it better to take the E train which gets me about 4 blocks from my destination, or hike about the same distance in the 42nd street station, or is there a moving sidewalk or something to get from A to N/Q trains under 42nd street?

Can you tell me what stations are you close to?
Both Airtrain to Howard Beach and Jamaica Stations take 12 minutes. Paid $5 with Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard.
1. Take Manhattan-bound (A) train to 42nd St-Port Authority Bus Terminal, however there are no conveyerbelt and this is worst passegeway.

From Jamaica Station
1. Take Manhattan-bound (E) Express (late night local) to 42nd St-Port Authority Bus Terminal.

i need someone to explain the directions. we will be in the village area and are unsure of how to get back to 42nd street...thanks. please only answer if ur sure, i'd really prefer not to get lost.

I agree that the A train will work for you, but if you're in Greenwich Village, the stop at West 14th Street will probably be a bit of a walk.

The station that will likely be more convenient is the one at West 4th Street and 6th Avenue, which is more central in Greenwich Village.

Here's an official list, from the subway website, of the stations that the A train stops at:
http://www.mta.info/nyct/service/aline.h tm

Just print it off, put it in your pocket, and when you're finished with your time in Greenwich Village, look to see which is the closest station. If you're unsure, any restaurant waiter or store clerk should be able to tell you, plus the quickest way to walk there. Get on the A train heading "Uptown" and get off at the West 42nd Street/Port Authority station.
