What high crimes and misdemeanors do you think are grounds for impeachment of a president? (Besides Lying under oath, murder, purjery, treason)
The term "impeachment" is not the same as "arrested" or any other harsh legal terms which may be scampering round in your heads right now.
Impeachment, loosely translated, simply means that some people are going to ask some questions. Period. Its an investigation, not an arrest, not a trial, not a grand jury. It's an investigation.
Same thing happens in the military, everyone fears the "Article Thirteen". Well, that too is just an investigation. It is conducted by ones superior officers, and amounts to some people asking some questions.

54 percent of congress thinks that that Bush is probably guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. So how can Pelosi and democratic candidates run and bet on success in 2008 on Bush's criminal activities, without at LEAST attempting to bring this to justice? Is our country and it's constitution so irrelevant that we ignore that justice should be served?
Probably,think, explaination:
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

just stay out of their own way.
they ain't doin' a very good job of it ,though; what with the permission for war and the blank check they gave the administration.
the dem.s have nothing to feel all warm and fuzzy about!!
It has already been shown that he failed to pay a number of parking tickets for several years. There is also footage of him jaywalking when he took his daughter to get custard on her birthday. Those are clearly misdemeanors. How come the liberal media is not reporting this? Double standard?
ROFL to some of these answers. Don't worry, I'm sure someday they'll realize you're being sarcastic.
It amazes me that the Constitution holds Politicians and Judges to a Higher Standard. But typical Republicans hold Politicians to a Lower standard.
According to the Constitution a High Crime (like Cronyism) is Impeachable. The Constitution doesn't even mention Felonies it stops at misdemeanors as being enough to Impeach.
According to many Americans they think anything less than Despotism is OK
Its the parties...they don't want to impeach their rival over a misdemeanor because it would come back to bite them when "their" guy is in power.
Just another example of how our political parties suck. Clinton lied under oath and the only reason he wasn't impeached was because the Dems voted in lock-step with one another to keep him from being impeached.
Stevens committed a BRIBERY felony and nobody in his own party is asking him to step down...more partisan-whoring.
Most Americans are followers of their party and stick their heads in the sand.
I'm not too sure but I think it was perjury, and obstruction of justice. Also, were the two of the four articles of impeachment that were passed Article I and Article II? Best answer gets 10 points! Thanks!
Two counts of perjury, obstruction of justice, and abuse of power.
One count of perjury and the abuse charges failed to pass impeachment and he was acquitted of the obstruction charge
