The assignment given is we have to compare the 1961 movie, Judgment on Nuremberg, to what really happened at the Judges Trial and write a paper that investigates whether or not it was historically accurate. The only specific I have I can compare is Ernst Janning, who was based on Franz Schlegelberger. Anyone have anyother specifics that I could write about??
Thanks for help
Spencer Tracy-not a real person
Marlene Dietrich- not a real person
Judy Garland-a composite character
Novel characters wrapped around facts. They set the correct mod in that flick I'd say. Difficult assignment, best of luck.
Think they would of just had you read "Night," horrid, but true account.
judgment at nuremberg verdict
I have been reading the comments about the film on IMDB and particularly Monty Clift's participation in it. Apparently not based on an actual character, but easily this could have been any one of a number of Germans in post-World War 2 Europe.
When he holds up the picture of his mother and asks, "You tell me, was she feeble-minded?", it is absolutely heartbreaking.
In the movie Judgment at Nuremberg, there is a part that takes place in a German beerhall and everyone sings a very famous German drinking song. Anyone know the name of it?
The tune to the song goes something like "Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye".
I think it might be "Du Du"
