I've heard the expression "murdered in cold blood", what's the difference than being murdered in "warm blood"?
cold–blood·ed
Pronunciation: \ˈkōl(d)-ˈblə-dəd\
Function: adjective
Date: 1595
1 a: done or acting without consideration, compunction, or clemency <cold–blooded murder> b: matter-of-fact, emotionless <a cold–blooded assessment>
Thus, murdered in cold blood, means that the murderer had no conscience, or emotion as he committed the act.
I just need to know what the main story behind In Cold Blood and how is was a new genre back then.
Thanks in Advance!
In Cold Blood, published in 1965, was first serialized in the New Yorker in four installments. It was an instant critical and commercial success, bringing Truman Capote both literary recognition and celebrity status. With its publication, Capote claimed to have invented a new genre, the ''nonfiction novel,'' and critics quickly accepted his classification, his methods, and his purpose as a new combination of journalism and fiction.
Truman Capote took the logical step of what had been the territory of popular culture and newspapers and turned it into serious art form for which he coined the term non-fiction novel.
The work is divided into four titled sections, 75 to 100 pages each:
1. The Last to See Them Alive
2. Persons Unknown
3. Answer
4. Corner
Capote wrote In Cold Blood as a literary experiment. He wanted to write a "nonfiction novel." He felt that he was one of the rare creative people who actually took journalism seriously. The question is whether a book such as In Cold Blood is actually a novel, a creative work, or journalism.

The murder and trial of the Clutter case had garnered big headlines, and many readers probably knew the details of the novel before they began reading it. Capote had to make it interesting even to people who knew the outcome--the book had to be good literature as well as be informative and accurate. The novel is saturated with details that would never have been included in a newspaper. Moreover, the details are carefully picked. Knowing that Capote compiled 8,000 pages of research, the book seems to be a very carefully edited selection of facts and descriptions
What is the motive for killing the clutter family in the book in cold blood
The killers were under the impression that there was a safe in the house. Of course, there was not, so they killed the family.
What is his rhetorical purpose for writing In Cold Blood?
what was his purpose in writing the book? we all know that it was an account of two murderers, but was capote trying to appeal to his readers and send a message to them?
i don't understand the question. good book though.
elaborate?
