If you don't speak Russian is this worth watching? I've been pretty impressed with the few Soviet films I've seen ESPECIALLY Kin-Dza-Dza. I didn't like S.T.A.L.K.E.R very much though it was very beautifully shot. I have to admit and I know people will hate me for it but I responded to the American Solaris more than the Soviet original.
Still want to see Alexander Nevsky but thinking I'll watch this first, I read a review though that said the film's comedy comes mainly from the anachronism of 16th century and 20th century Russian language which I imagine would lose quite a lot in translation it's on imdb's top 50 sci-fi's though asnd sounds interesting.
I would definetely recommend it to a non-native speaker, but I would suggest finding the subtitles to watch the movie.
Why? It is a classic comedy from the Soviet era, and it is a cult movie of a whole generation. While the movie definetely will lose a lot for you due to a different language, it is still a great opportunity to be acquainted to the comedic culture of the Soviet era.

I need some movies recommended Sci-Fi and horror films would be great nothing to old about 1990s and up ive seen all these already so any suggestions besides these would be great

Planet of the Apes - Astronaut goes thru a black hole and ends up on Earth ( or smewhere) in the future where the apes rule and the humans are slaves
Hemoglobin - a man searches for his past and finds his family has lived for generations as inbreeders.
Queen of the Damned - about vampires and a girl who wants to be a vampire
Jason - He is on a space station and tries to kill everyone
House of 1000 Corpses - They eat people
Ghost Ship - An evil ghost has to gather many other souls for the devil. He causes mysterious accidents that kills people on a ship. The opening scene is a doozy.
Sin City stars Bruce Willis It is very gory and bloody. Much violence but more tongue in cheek than fist.
Starship Troopers - Aliens bombing Earth. We go to their planet to kill them.
Dog Soldiers - Soldiers turn into werewolves and kill everybody
Not sure of the dates. I'll get around to cataloguing my 3000 movies one day.
I thought Sin City was the best. Extravagant and unlikely violence. How do you get a dog to eat his masters' legs while he sits there smiling.
