Americas military/intelligence geniuses figured out the whole "hearts and minds" concept after the tet offensive in vietnam.
They seem to be coming around to this concept in Afhganistan and Iraq several years in brutal occupations that have been replete with murder, mayhem, torture, marketplace bombings, mysterious mosque explosions etc.
Why do they think the people are going to start loving them now?
Are the american military planners of average or above average stupidity compared with other americans?
The idea is that if the population likes you then they are less likely to hide the enemy from you.
Judging by this question as well as your assumption that using technology to fight a battle is "cowardly" by a previous question, I'm going to safely assume you never spent a day in uniform and think that your time watching CNN reports makes you more qualified to run a war than a general who joined the military before you was even born.

you can start by reading Linda Goodman's Star signs under "about her", thats the best advice I can offer.
N.O.W.= The National Organization of Women...at least 51% of women say they "NOW" doesn't speak for them!
Sarah Palin seems to offer an alternative to extreme left leaning organization who claim to speak for all women.
Is this the beginning of a conservative answer to the Liberal Elite?
Yes, very much so. She is a leader and a great woman who is respected by her party. On the other hand, Obama and the liberal media totally trashed Hillary. He did not even vet her for VP. Now, he is pro-woman and has women out speaking. To me he is using them as tokens. Hillary was not good enough for VP after getting 18 million votes but he will use her to say he likes women? Come on
So, for instence, if we are motivated by wealth without concern to anything else, will we live in a greed ruled world, with everything else ignored? If we are motivated by goodness, noblity, justice, common sense, humanity, compassion and truth and have the goal of a good, noble, just, sensible, humane, compassionate and true world and use good, noble, just, sensable, humane, compassionate and true means to get to it, wouldn't it actually lead to a good, noble, just, sensable, humane, compassionate and truth ruled world? Could we surmise that if the world is going in a certain direction, that it is going that way because of the motivations in the hearts and minds of the people who are making it go that way? So if our goal is a good, noble, just, sensable, humane, compassionate, true world shouldn't we have those ideals be our primary motivation, and then the actions to get there will naturally follow?
If more and more people aspire towards the good and noble and honorable, which is not religon, race, sex, age or even intelligence dependent(or the current state of ones goodness, honor or nobility), wouldn't that lead to a better and better world and wouldn't having that example become more and more widespread have it spread faster and faster? And I have a feeling alot of people think they aren't good enough to aspire towards goodness or honor or any high minded noble ideals, but isn't not aspiring to that what got them in there current state of feeling unworthy? I know people can redeem themselves no matter what they've done and no matter how many times they fail or fall or stumble. Are these statements also true?
Just because mankind is naturally not inclined towards what I'm thinking of is no reason whatsoever that it shouldn't be strived for. No matter how difficult the right thing is its still the right thing, and just because something has never been done before is no reason whatsoever that it couldn't be done or shouldn't be done, right?
Yes but if some one elses motivation is differ ent and they are role model in life- Im sure they have influence over changing your motivation. Look at religion and born again christians. People can change there motivations in life.
Does that mean someone who grows up in China around Buddhism and never hears about Christianity will know deep down inside that the Christian god exists?
OR
Someone who doesn't grow up with a society at all will know in their hearts and minds that he exists?
I believe that there is an emptiness inside all of us that only God can fill. (Everyone has a spiritual side but many don't seek answers) God will reveal himself to ANYONE, ANYWHERE who seeks God with all their heart even if they have never heard about Him. That happened to me as a child. I really wanted to know God on a personal level, without being told that that could happen. I told God that I loved Him even though I knew nothing about Him. He revealed Himself to me, spiritually, and I started to go to church and read the Bible. I came to understand about Christ dying for me and accepted HIm as my savior. That was 38 years ago and I am very grateful that the God, who created the universe, also provided a way for my sins to be forgiven and know that there is a place waiting for me in Heaven.
You accept it by faith first and then God reveals Himself to you. He loved me before I ever loved Him. =) I am at peace
Great question
