Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo and Sanjuro were released in 1961 and 1962- but what year did the stories within the movies supposedly take place?

The time frame of Sanjuro is far more difficult to pinpoint. I don't actually think that you can be more precise here than saying that it is set in the Edo Period (1603-1868), which is also what Yoshimoto (in "Kurosawa: Film Studies and Japanese Cinema") suggests. I would personally say 18th century, but I don't really have much to back that statement with.

I know its been remastered but the picture looks really clear and way better than most budget films of today. I thought modern technology would have made it much easier to produce clearer pictures but it looks like that is not the case.

You know where you fight Haymaker? There's a bridge close to that, and under it you'll find a cave. Once inside I believe you will need to fight the spirit of Lulu's old Summoner and Yojimbo himself.
Once defeated you'll need to pay him to join your party, and pay him whenever he attacks.
im having trouble with yojimbo . i pay and i pay and i pay till i go broke and yet he continues to use daigoro.how much money will it take 10,000 gil 20,000 50,000 tripled the price that that i paid to obtain him when will he cooperate.any suggestions,links or tips would be very nice
ok when he doesnt hav his overdrive up just pay him 1 gil, everytime, he will attack and when his overdrive is up pay him over 1000 gil and he will do his overdrive
I've been getting closer and closer to beating him but I just keep dying, and I think I just need to level up a little more. Any recommended spots? My party is at level 30, 30 and 31.
Also, what is the recommended level to be at for this boss fight?
