I'm moving to school tomorrow, and I need really simple recipes to make in a hotpot?
Sea of Orange

I'm going to be living in an uber small room off campus at my pastor's house, and all I'm allowed to have in there for food is a small fridge and a hotpot. I'm desperate, I need really simple recipes to make for dinners. I'm going to dollar general tomorrow to get the food. Oh by the way, I love top ramen noodles without the spice packet, but I need more variety. Any suggestions?

Any canned foods (soups, beans etc.). You can boil water so you could make any kind of pasta. You could also get creative and make quesadilla's or grilled cheese with your iron (just be sure to use paper towels!!). I can't remember most of what I use to make... Just think anything that can be boiled or heated...

Deep Orange

They have three other children at home, and since I don't have kids, I'm not sure what to make. I'm not used to cooking for more than 2 people. I'm looking for something simple but yummy that kids will enjoy, too. Any thoughts would really help!
I like the idea of a spaghetti and meatballs type dish- have a really good recipe, but wouldn't that be too spicy if she's breastfeeding?

I made pizza spaghetti for my 1 yr olds birthday. I was sure the kids would love it but I was so surprised to see the adults going fpr 2nd and 3rd servings. It was just regular spaghetti but layered with lots of cheese and lots of pepperoni, I made garlic breadsticks too (freezer section) I made a really big pot of spaghetti with meat sauce and lots of finely diced bellpepper ( i love pepperoni and bellpepper pizza). Then I layered it in a really big pan and put it in the oven til the cheese on the top browned

I'm pregnant and need cheap & healthy recipes or meal ideas for myself and fiancee. We have $150 for groceries?
Up Into Colours

I'm almost 2 months pregnant and my fiancee and I are on a really tight budget with planning a wedding and getting ready for a baby. I'm latin so I cook with lots of rice and chicken, but wanted some more ideas on cheap foods since my soon to be hubby is caucasian and wanted to cook traditional american meals for him too. I'm trying to include more fruit and vegetables in our diets too. Any recipes to share? Thanks
$150 for the month

Hi Jessenia

Have a look at the site below which is being developed with budget cooking in mind. The idea is that you cook a main meal and then cook an entirely new meal from the leftovers. This way you save on time and money.

The November Meal Plan is now available and is designed with the seasons mind - so lots of Butternut Squash recipes! Also lots of Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes.

There are also freezer ideas so that as you get close to having your baby, you can stock up the freezer with meals.

Hope that you get some inspiration and good luck on your precious journey.

I'm trying to find instructions on how to make a pyramid shaped cake?
Loading Up

Its for a school project that I have to have done by Wednesday. I’m making the pyramids of Gizah.
At first I was just going to buy a pyramid shaped pan, but as it turns out they don't sell those. So now I'm going to have to make several layers of cake and stack them, then carve out a 3D pyramid. I’m totally lost when it comes to carving the cake though.

It is EXTREMELY important to FREEZE the cake before carving it.
For carving it, use a "stiff" serrated knife. Ice with medium to soft icing.

Use a "dark" icing, because you will have A LOT of crumbs to deal with and be prepared to lose the tip of the pyramid while cutting the cakes.
Solution: Use stiff icing to form a new and better one.

Don't fret too much about the sides not being perfect; it really does look more authentic.

I'm just starting Ballet am i to old to start?Any tips or ideas to help me get a head start?
Up to the Cross

I'm twelve, I have a little less than average fexibilty and i'm 5'6.Am I to old to start and then maybe go onto pointe. I did Ballet for about a month or two but now i'm moving any tips to get a head start so i can work on it untill i can find another studio? Books, websites, just regular tips.
ok i meant to say i want to eventually go onto pointe

if you want to dance, go for it :)
you should STRETCH, strengthen your ankles, etc.
when you do combinations in class, pay close attention to all the little details, like turn out in tondus, bend ankles in plies, use inner thigh muscles in developes..
for pointe, you have to really prove that you are ready.. i mean its easier to correct a "deadly habit" (we all have them, such as not plie-ing or sitting in the heals) before going on pointe.. so just work, work, work :)
