The spiney fins on most catfish are venomous and pack a painfull sting. If stung what can you do to relieve the pain and make sure it doesn't get infected.
Catfish Sting Treatment
Outdoor Treatment of Catfish Stings
Irrigate the wound with fresh warm water, as hot as you can tolerate. This author, however, has used both cool and warm water, with similar results. The rationale for using warmer water is that it is supposed to decrease the venom effects and burning. Caution is advised in individuals who have read certain treatment interventions such as using boiling or scalding water, and end up burning their hand, arm or foot because the water was too hot, suffering greater injury than the sting. Pain medication and antibiotics can been helpful to prevent infection. There are a varietyof antibiotics that may be used, as these bites usually do become infected from the normal flora on our skin, on which is located staphylococcus and streptococcus. Monitor the wound over the next four to five days. Signs fo infection: Ascending red marks, increased pain, soreness in joint areas or above the sting area. These bites usually do quite well except for secondary infection.

Catfish stings from the dorsal and lateral fins usually resolve quite well on their own, although they can be very painful. This author has been stung many times by freshwater catfish including the channel catfish, the common bullhead, as well as flatheads. Without any treatment, this author’s stings did resolve. However, it would not be uncommon for these to become infected, with a classic cellulitis occurring. One also has to be concerned about infections from stagnant, contaminated water. I am looking for a natural way to help when someone is very allergic to bees. I have read that Epinephrine is the best way to go, but an Epipen or other epinephrine remedies have needles and they take some effort to use. Is there a remedy that can be used immediately after a bee sting that can help at least until you can made it to the hospital? Thanks!
Benadryl would be the next best thing. It's not "natural", it's a man-made over-the-counter drug, but it is a great antihistimine to help relieve symptoms.
Of course, if your friend has a *severe* allergy to beestings, then the epi-pen might be the only thing that could save his life.
If it came down to dying because you can't breathe, or sticking yourself with a short needle, do you really think you wouldn't use the pen?

I'm not wearing much eye make-up, just a bit of eye liner and mascara. It's been on since this morning and now my eyes are starting to sting. This happens all the time. Does anyone else get this? Are there any mascaras that are non-irritating to the eyes? Every brand I use affects my eyes like this after about 8hrs. It's so annoying!
that happens to me but the real reason is because sometimes the eyeliner gets into my eyes. Does the same happen to you? you can buy better eyeliner or mascara at a different store, it just depends on the kind you have
