I saw a movie called, or so i thought, the pianist.

and its about this mom who's mute and has a daughter, adorable little girl, and then some stuff happens and her husband tells her not to play the piano ever again, and she does so he cuts her finger off, and some other stuff happens, and the mom and the guy teaching her to play piano go on a boat w/ indians? i believe, idk and she goes overboard and stays underwater but the guy saves her.

haha sorry i saw this movie a long time ago and really remember what happens.
but please help !!
Also near the end of the movie she ends up getting a metal or wooden finger so she can play the piano again.

That movie is called "The Piano". "The Pianist" is a different movie set in Poland in WWII. They were both very disturbing.

Do you think that becoming a classical crossover pianist a good concept?
World Hunger Day Gala | Leaflet A5 Back

I am a classically trained pianist, and I want to be a classical crossover pianist. I personally think it is a good concept, but I need some input first. I plan to perform classical music and well as famous songs and new music. I think music videos and such might be good ideas as well. My goal is to reach young people especially. Does anyone have any ideas as to getting started or other concepts to add to my list?

Most definitely!
This is a very rewarding career
good luck to you :)

How hard is it to become a classical concert pianist?
Erroll Garner & Art Tatum - The Piano Style Of

Is there anything I should do to become a pianist on the same level as Arrau, Horowitz, Rubenstein, etc??? I am debating whether or not I should become a physicist or a pianist, but it is such a big gamble I dont know what to do.

Becoming a physicist is relatively easy. Becoming Horowitz or Rubenstein? A lot tougher. You can count the number of years of schooling needed to become a physicist. It'll take you the rest of your life to become a master on the order of those men. And it's not a gamble at all. If you want to become a great concert pianist, go for it. Just realize time is not the measure of how successful you'll be. Success is measured by determination, integrity and a willingness to hold on to your dream when everything in your world says it's impossible. And by the way, if you become a physicist without doing these things, you will be a physicist. Just not a very good one.

How much should a non-professional church pianist make an hour?
Backside Erroll Garner & Art Tatum - The Piano Style Of

Our church is looking for someone who can play hymns out of our hymn book and perhaps something classical to close our service. We're not looking for a professional piano player; a freelance pianist or someone who can read notes and play will suffice. So my question is: how much should we pay this person an hour for 1 1/2 hours of work once a week?
Thanks yeah I forgot the church service is really small like 20-30 people.

If they are playing 1 1/2 hours on a single day of the week (Sunday) I would suggest $50 to $75. If it is a rehearsal one day and a service on another $75 to $100.
If they are reading from a hymnal and know what the music will be a week in advance, you can cut that by 20%
This would be fair in most small Churches.

What's the best medium for a concert pianist to learn guitar?
The Pianist ( actress in love with Wladyslaw Szpilman

I am an advanced, classically trained concert pianist who wants to start playing blues and rock on an electric guitar. I've attempted to learn acoustic guitar in the past, but have had huge problems getting my fingers into "guitar mode." With the electric guitar being my ultimate goal, is it best for me to start with acoustic, or to just dive right into electric?

there is probably no right answer to this question. Acoustic is a bit harder to play beacause is harder to bend the strings and get hammer ons and pull offs to sound out. But this difficulties will stregnthen you fingers up and development your craftsmanship on the guitar. Electric is easier on the fingers and can be more fun to play because you can add effects like distorions and delays. You can practice on both just the same but there are a lot of things that you can do on an electric that you can't do on an acoustic. but then again, one acoustic guitar can be a lot cheaper than buying an electric guitar, amp, chords, strap and peadals. I would just get what ever's accesible to you. Most guitarist I know get both eventually. Don't worry about you fingers not getting into guitar mode, after some pratice, playing chords and such will be second nature.
