Re-release trailer for Howard Hawks' the critically acclaimed biopic of World War I hero, Alvin York (1887-1964), starring Gary Cooper, Joan ...
-Why is Alvin York considered a hero?
-What was General Pershing's role during the war?
General Pershing was the Commander of the American Expeditionary Force (all the Americans fighting in France and Belgium in 1918).
Sergeant York won the Medal of Honor for heroically taking on a lot of Germans by himself.

I would love to know where one could find the colorized version of this film. We had it taped years ago, and I own the newly released B/W version on DVD but would love to have a copy of the color version as well ... where o where could I find it. Just wanted suggestions as all my avenues of searching come up empty. Thanks,
I have never herd of a colorized version...If there is one it might be a Turner Classics edition....
Turned colorized a lot of the oldies.....
If you do find it PLEASE send me an email so I can get a copy...
It is one of my favorite movies....And Sgt. York was in real life an incredible man....Quiet, soft spoken, yet able to do more than just what had to be done......

Edit:
As of 1995, colorization is no longer a hot issue. Demand for colorized movies has shrunk drastically. Ted Turner, owner of hundreds of MGM, Warner Bros., and RKO titles and colorization's most outspoken advocate, has quietly stopped releasing colorized movies. The main legacy of colorization is the National Film Registry, established by Congress in 1988 in response to the colorization controversy. The Registry is a list of films, selected by experts and expanded annually, that, if colorized, will have to be labeled with a disclaimer.
