I hate when people make this comparison.
Ed Wood seemed to love films and he had real passion to make good movies; just that his results never came out that great.
Uwe Boll, I think, doesn't give a crap about films and gets cheap licenses to do video game adaptations or scripts nobody wants and makes profit through legal loopholes with taxes.
Whatever can be said about Ed Wood he was creative and had his own personal vision. It doesn't take much to license a movie from a video game.

I have recently watched Ed Wood for the first few times, and i must say i loved it. However I can't help wonder why it made just $6 million in the box office, it's not like it was bad, it was fantastic and many people agree. With Johnny Depp and Tim Burton you expect it to be awesome, and it was in my opinion and many others. So does anybody know as to why it was so unsuccessful?
This movie is awesome and is like an indie film, it wasn't played in many theaters. Critics gave it a very good review and Landau won an oscar because of it. They didn't have a big promotional company like the blockbusters do..400 million people saw Transformers last summer and the movie was awful and critics slammed it, but it was highly promoted and advertised.So basically people don't know Ed Wood exist even today!! I mean how do you found out about Ed Wood? I imagine you have to research and look for it, is not like they smeared in your face like Twilight
i always hear how some people find it outta place, every one curses, and sometimes curse little bit too much but why is it soo outta place when Béla Lugosi cursed? was he the kind of man who never cursed?
Bela Lugosi was a foreigner - and if he cursed - it would be in his native tongue. People are always down on Ed Wood - he always went over the top.
I am 12 years old and trying to buy all the movies that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp did together. My mom won't let me get it if there is anything sexual. I know it is R rated but as long as there is no sexual stuff. I already watched the Trailer for "Ed Wood" and I know he dresses up in Girl's clothes. I am allowed watching stuff that swear and they have sex in it as long as you don't see anything or hear like moans or breathless people ;)
I just watched Ed Wood, and I really enjoyed it. I know of course that it was a fictionalized story based on true events, but was Ed really close with Bela Lugosi? DId he know Vampira? Was Bela really a drug addict? Just curious.
Yes, it was quite accurate from everything I've read about Ed Wood, Jr. Actually, they were kind to him, meaning they stopped before they got to the really bleak part of his life.
Yes, he knew Vampira, who also was a good friend of James Dean (actor).
