The Wild Bunch - Final Shootout

The famous shootout from Sam Peckinpah's great 1969 film "The Wild Bunch". Obviously, this will have spoilers, so I'd advise ...

Did you ever just ask a simple religious question on here and they attacked you like a bunch of wild dingos?
Cowboy

They are attacking my hair, for Christs sake, and they do not know the answers so they talk to me like I am an idiot mixing carrots an and gasoline together. Does that ever happen to you and like me do think it is great fun?

We always find someone who attacks us.
You have beautiful hair (if they're yours).

How do I get rid of a bunch of wild cats at my house?
Rancher Boy

A good bet is to invest in some fox urine powder. Spinkle some on your lawn and those cats will be history. It works by creating a misleading image that foxes are present -- this also helps direct chipmunks, groundhogs, mice, moles, possum, rabbits, shrew, rats, skunk, voles and woodchucks away, as the odor of a fox is a danger signal to them.

Who has seen the movie The Wild Bunch and can help me with my five paragraph essay?
Cowboy Commentator

The wild Bunch by Sam Peckinpah was a great, and exciting adventure. This movie took you on an adventure with five cowboys. The theme, Setting, and Characters were the most important things in the movie.

The theme was easy. The theme was cowboys and their stuggles to stay alive and get what they want which was gold and lots of money. Dispite the fact that the movie was never ending, it was pretty good and a lot of Spanish was spoken throughout the movie so that was kind of interesting. The Wild Bunch had to go through a lot of trouble to stay away from any other cowboy gangs that tried to kill them or take their money.

The setting was amazing. It was based in Texas but the land had so much desert it look like Phoenix. The desert seemed a little too hot to be having pointless cowboy fights over money.

Thats my essay. I dont no what else to say. I cant use the words "I,me" and i have to state facts about the movie but also put my opinions in it. I need help wrighting the rest of it.

How can WE put YOUR opinions into it.

The movie 'The Wild Bunch'- please help?

Why does Pike shoot the German Military Advisor after the Mexican General, thus starting the massive firefight?

Dutch laughs after they shoot the General, is this because they got away with killing the head honcho? Then Pike spoils it by shooting the German.

We've got a couple of theories, are they at all accurate:

1. German is shot because he was the one giving the Mexican aggressors their impetus.

2. German is shot because the death of the General did not start a gun battle; Pike and the Bunch were hoping to 'go out with guns blazing' as they realised their era had come to an end and were merely looking for a big exit, so shot him in the hope of things kicking off.

Also, at the end when Thornton and Freddy ride off, do they do so to become bandits again? Surely this is at odds wit the demise of the Wild Bunch?

It's really bugging us- thanks!

They've got nothing left to lose. They know they're going to die anyway (besides, the German did not like them, and sneered at them).

re: Thornton and Freddy -- any answer is mere speculation. Logically, Thornton would go back for the reward money. He's unlikely to become a bandit again, as he just got out of prison and doesn't want to ever to go back in.
